BIO

I grew up in Debre Markos, East Gojjam, and attended three different schools to complete my elementary and high school education. Interestingly, I had no interest in programming while growing up—in fact, I wrote my first "Hello, World!" program only after joining Engineering at Addis Ababa University.

I always wanted to join Medical school as a kid and even came to Addis Ababa University hopping to join Tkur Anbessa Med School. Fortunately, I didn’t pass the entrance exam—and instead found myself in the Engineering department. Getting into Software Engineering at AAU wasn’t easy, but by God’s grace, I got it.

Now, I’m on the path to becoming a Software Engineer. Now that I have been coding for some time, I’ve come to see programming as an interesting and challenging craft. It's worth every time and effort put on it. I'm currently focused on web development and it's going great so far. With God's help, I aim to make the most of the opportunity I’ve been given.

Bsc. in Software Engineering (will graduate in 2028)

As a software engineering student at Addis Ababa University, I’ve completed courses in Programming Fundamentals, Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Computer Networking, and Database Systems so far. Through these courses and various projects, I’ve developed strong skills in problem-solving, collaboration, and practical software development. Beyond academics, university life has taught me valuable lessons in time management, hard work, social interaction, and living and working with people from diverse backgrounds.

Front-End Developement Basics

An excellent open-source resource for learning web development. It taught me how to use the command line effectively and understand the fundamentals of version control with Git and GitHub. The platform includes numerous hands-on projects and exercises that helped me sharpen my front-end development skills through real-world practice.

Programming Foundamentals

This program helped kick-start my front-end development journey. The courses are highly detailed and helped me understand basic concepts in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and how the web works in general entirely from scratch. I gained a pretty good understanding of the web, front-end and I also completed some projects along the way. I successfully earned a certificate upon completion.

Front-End Development Summer Bootcamp

Participated in a summer bootcamp focused on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Built several front-end projects that helped strengthen my understanding of web development fundamentals and improve my practical coding skills. I also strengthened my experience with version control using Git and GitHub, working more confidently with code management and collaboration workflows.
